The 3 Valleys ski area is a long-time personal favourite with endless skiing and fast lifts – plenty to keep even the speediest skiers entertained for many weeks. The Courchevel Valley has some of the nicest and quietest tree-lined routes in the whole area with completely varied terrain.
There is a contagious, electric atmosphere in Courchevel 1850. It is impossible to run out of things to do, places to go and people to see. From the start of the season until the end, you can count on the vibrance of Courchevel 1850.
In Courchevel 1850, the lifts run from early December to the end of April, but the lower resorts of Courchevel 1650, 1550 and Le Praz 1300 usually open a week later and close a week earlier. A reduced ski area may be in operation, depending on snow conditions, during the first two weeks of December.
The nearest airport is Chambery, approximately 1 hour 30 minutes drive, whilst Grenoble and Lyon airports are approximately 2 hours 10 minutes and Geneva airport is 2 hours 20 minutes drive away. Moutiers rail station is also just a 30-minute drive away.
There is also an altiport in Courchevel 1850 for those travelling by helicopter or private jet.
Courchevel 1850 is part of the vast 3 Valleys ski area which extends across the Meribel valley and the Val Thorens valley, making it one of the world’s largest ski areas.
Being so large, every type and style of ski run can be found in the 3 Valleys, from steep and hardcore black runs to easy cruisy blues and everything in between. Having so many options on a luxury ski holiday also means good snow conditions can almost always be found somewhere across the ski area. The area generally has good snow reliability, helped by the high altitude of the area and Courchevel’s northerly aspect.
