The Côte d’Azur, in the south of France, brings thoughts of delicious Provençal lunches enjoyed from luxury villas overlooking the sparkling Mediterranean sea, relaxing in the sunshine on the miles of beaches and sipping champagne or cocktails from the waters edge whilst watching the super yachts come and go.
There are some excellent destinations to visit along this well-known coastline, from the exclusive town of St. Jean Cap Ferrat to the uber-stylish and glamourous St. Tropez.
Cap Ferrat oozes charm and beauty. This chic but quieter alternative to St. Tropez forms part of a small peninsular surrounded by turquoise seas and hidden rocky coves with a number of lovely beaches close by. The town is peppered with enticing street cafés and small boutiques to keep you occupied and offers some wonderfully contemporary luxury villas such as Villa O and Villa CView to keep visitors in the style to which they are accustomed.
Slightly further around the coast is the unspoilt seaside town of Villefranche sur Mer. Retaining much of its old fashioned atmosphere, it still enjoys fishing boats coming into the harbour ensuring that the seafood is fresh and plentiful in the many bistros or waterside eateries you have to choose from. Villefranche sur Mer has some fabulous views out over St. Jean Cap Ferrat and beyond.
And of course, on either side of these smaller but by no means lesser destinations are the very well known towns of Monaco and St. Tropez.
