Mykonos is the Jewel of the Cyclades.
With an array of traditional white-washed cubic villas, picturesque Mediterranean beaches and welcoming tavernas, Mykonos is the jewel in the crown of the Cycladic islands. Located in the Agean sea, South of Athens, the island became a bohemian mecca in the 1960s and retains a relaxed and informal vibe.

Mykonos Town, known as Chora, is the main hive of activity and is renowned for the iconic windmills sitting high above the town, watching over the beautiful maze of narrow cobbled streets below. Hidden within, this stunning old port boasts an abundance of boutiques, artisanal market stalls and designer jewellery shops. You will find yourself spoilt for choice by the myriad of traditional family-run restaurants and sophisticated bars.
As the sun dips below the Mediterranean Sea, head to Caprice bar in the Little Venice area of Mykonos Town to enjoy fresh fruit Mai Tai sundowners, elaborately decorated with tropical fruit sticks. Later in the evening locals head to Astra, to dance the night away, under the magical starry sky.
The old capital of Ano Mera, at the heart of the island will give you a fantastic insight into the origins of Mykonian culture, with its pretty church and beautiful market square surrounded by bougainvillea.
It is about a 15-minute drive from Chora and has a rather different atmosphere as well. It is much quieter, where you can enjoy a Greek cup of coffee or wander around the monasteries.
Mykonos is best explored by car, allowing you access to the unchartered coves and tavernas that punctuate the arid landscape. A must-see is the breathtaking beach at Agios Sostis in the North-West of the island, with its azure water, tiny Greek chapel and charming Kiki’s restaurant. Alternatively brave the bumpy and winding track to Fokos Beach to sample the fresh local seafood and Mykonian Louza (grilled pork tenderloin).
Villa Panteleon, located next to the exclusive Panormos beach, is the perfect hideaway for relaxing with family and friends. This elegant, beachfront luxury villa in Mykonos sleeps 12 people and has a fabulous outdoor kitchen with a poolside bar, perfect for entertaining. Panormous beach has a fun and popular taverna, great for long lunches with an iced glass of rosé.
With a spectacular seafront position and fabulous sea views Villa Basileia is the ultimate in cool and contemporary boltholes. Brilliant white walls, natural wood and stone features create a modern vision of Greek style. The villa is wonderful for outdoor living, with a large infinity swimming pool and outdoor dining area with a kitchen and BBQ. Sleeping 6 people in 3 en-suite rooms, this Mykonian luxury villa is designed with relaxation in mind.
