When picturing a luxury villa holiday in Italy you’d be forgiven for not imagining past the wonderful food, wine, classic architecture and rolling hills of Tuscany. Yet only a short hop away is the jaw-droppingly beautiful island of Sardinia. Staying in a luxury villa in Sardinia makes the perfect base to explore the miles of spectacular coastline and the dozens of secluded beaches.
Sardinia is the second largest island in the Mediterranean after Sicily. Sardinia has had a complicated history dating back to 3000 years BC, which has contributed to its fascinating architecture, food and local languages. From the Catalan-influenced northwest to the sandy white dunes in the south, from the rocky east to sometimes surfable west coast, Sardinia offers something for everyone.

Cagliari is Sardinia’s largest city and it sits at the very south of the island, right on the shore of a beautiful bay, known as the ‘Bay of Angels’. Extending back up the hill you will find the historic quarter of Castello. Take your time to wander through the tree-fringed boulevards, stumble across one of the piazzas and enjoy a drink whilst taking in the sunset. Also, be sure to see the pink flamingos that are residents in the ponds throughout the capital – they are not to be missed.
The chic town of Porto Cervo in the north of the island is where you’ll find many of the Sardinian luxury villas in our collection. Built by Aga Khan in the 1960s, this small village manages to combine glamour with laid-back cool in a way that only the Italians can.
Nowhere will give you more of a feel of Porto Cervo than the Yacht club. Here, you can enjoy a long lunch in the sun whilst looking over the super yachts moored in the harbour. But it is not only the people and the lifestyle that contribute to the appeal of this beautiful place. It is also the pristine beaches, the breath-taking landscapes and the unique nature.
Close to Porto Cervo you will find the luxury Villa Panfilo, which is perched on the hill overlooking the village of Porto Cervo and the sea. With alfresco living and dining areas, you can make the most of the Sardinian sunshine and take in the stunning sea views from your private swimming pool and terrace.
Villa Aniya is also found only 5 minutes from the Porto Cervo marina and Piazetta. Architect Savins Couelle designed the villa, giving the interiors a minimalist look, which contrast perfectly with the rustic exterior.
Porto Rotondo, south of Porto Cervo, is also known as one of the most luxurious resorts in the Mediterranean. The gorgeous town is found on the north-east coast of Sardinia. The name Porto Rotondo is derived from the natural bay where this beach town is located. It is now home to a round harbour where some of the most lavish yachts can be seen during the summer months. Follow the walkway around the marina and admire the gleaming boats before stopping for a drink in the sun at one of the cafes, the perfect place to enjoy a bit of people-watching.
If you want to visit Porto Rotondo then Villa Oralee overlooks the marina and is only a 5-minute walk from the centre of town. This luxury villa has plenty of room for everyone to relax, from the outdoor jacuzzi and swimming pool to the outdoor dining area with a BBQ and pizza oven.
