Tignes les Brévières is an attractive village for a luxury ski holiday, located below the main resort of Tignes, but linked to the enormous ski area which also encompasses the Val d’Isère ski area.
Tignes les Brévières is much quieter than its larger brother up the mountain and certainly has more charm. There is a collection of ski shops, ski schools, bars and restaurants.
The season in Tignes Les Brevieres and the Espace Killy ski area is one of the longest in the Alps and kicks off at the beginning of December and runs through to early May. There is also summer skiing on the glacier
We love the relaxed atmosphere of this attractive village and fast access to the vast Tignes – Val d’Isere ski area.
Chambery airport is just under 2 hours away. Grenoble, Lyon and Geneva airports are approximately 2 hours 35 mins away.
The highest peak is the Grande Motte at 3400m and the high altitude makes this one of the most snow-sure ski areas, but just in case there are over 200 snow canons.
Having such an extensive ski area on the doorstep of your luxury ski chalet means there is plenty of first-class skiing for all levels. Beginners are well catered for with a free drag lift on the Brevieres nursery slope. Once up at Lavachet and Tignes le Lac there are further easy nursery slopes and plenty of gentle blues, one of which brings you back to the village centre.
Intermediates will be in heaven, with a huge selection of options. There are dozens of well-groomed blues and reds, wide runs and narrow routes through the trees. The choice is yours on your luxury ski holiday.
For the advanced skier, Tignes is an off-piste paradise. From moguls to powder, there is so much to get your teeth into, and many challenging black runs to test your skills against.
Tignes les Brévières has a handful of bars and restaurants which have a relaxed mountain atmosphere and serve many of the excellent Savoyard mountain specialities.
L’Armailly Restaurant is a good option for lunch or dinner if staying in a self-catered luxury ski chalet. With a sun terrace, wine cellar and traditional French food, you will not be disappointed. A pizza delivery service is also available within Les Brévières if you fancy a night in on the chef’s night off at your luxury ski chalet.
