From the beautiful, cherry-picked luxury villas of our collection to the meticulously manicured golf courses, here’s our pick of the best places to go for a luxury golf break.
Discover the top-tier havens where golf aficionados can seamlessly blend luxury villas with their passion for the game.
For the ultimate in luxury golf breaks, there are few places better than Green 10 Villas, which sit in the grounds of the highly exclusive Finca Cortesin Hotel in Marbella, Spain, venue for the 2023 Solheim Cup. Four of these luxury villas are available for the ultimate sojourn in Spain, blending privacy with all the services of a 5* hotel.
The golf course is one of the top courses in Spain and ranked as one of the top 20 in Europe. Opened as recently as 2007, the course is a relatively recent addition to the list of ‘Europe’s Best Golf Courses’. Refreshingly absent of property development around the course, you can truly take in the far-reaching views and the holes meandering through a dramatic valley.
On Finca Cortesin’s signature 13th hole, a 418 yd par 4, you have to carry water twice, first with your drive and then with your approach shot onto a sloping green guarded by bunkers on both sides. Conquer what is considered one of Spain’s most beautiful golf holes and you will be ready to head off for further challenges at one of Marbella’s three other Top 5 golf courses, including Spain’s top-rated course, Real Valderrama, a short drive away.
After your round of golf, perhaps squeeze in a game of tennis or maybe take a well-earned break back at your luxury villa and enjoy a swim in your private pool in the warm, late summer sunshine.
Try the hotel’s opulent spa, complete with snow cave, to recuperate, before you stroll down to one of the hotel’s superb restaurants for dinner.
Golfers are spoiled for choice in Marbella, and any luxury golf break shortlist should include The Marbella Club. The immaculate Marbella Golf Resort was designed by Dave Thomas and offers spectacular views across the Mediterranean to Africa.
Choose between individual rooms, two bedroom villas, three bedroom villas or four bedroom villas with private pools, or for the ultimate in luxury living, stay at Villa del Mar, the super-exclusive and ultra luxury beachfront villa. All the villas have full use of all of the extensive facilities of the Marbella Club Hotel.
The Marco Simone Golf and Country Club, just over 10 miles from the centre of Rome, looked stunning at the Ryder Cup 2023 as Europe raced to an early lead they never relinquished. The course offers lovely views of the surrounding countryside, and luckily for us mere mortals, only plays around 6000yds, rather than the 7181yds that McIlroy, Hovland & co had to contend with at the world-renowned tournament.
With the course being so close to Rome, it is hard to justify not staying in the centre of Rome. And what better place than Villa di Roma, the finest luxury villa in Rome? Set on the edge of idyllic parklands in central Rome, this luxury villa is within easy reach of all the must-see attractions of Rome. The house itself is an oasis of tranquillity with lush private gardens and a stunning swimming pool, surrounded by tall trees.
Your home away from home has every comfort, from a private gym to pool table to an elegant dining room and a large, well-equipped kitchen that is ready and waiting for a private chef and assistants to install themselves. Or your concierge can have you whisked off to Rome’s finest restaurants once you have returned from your round of golf and afternoon apertivo. The villa sleeps 12 in six bedrooms.
The number of great golf courses on the Algarve, on the southern coast of Portugal, is astonishing. You just have to take your pick: stunning parkland courses away from the coast, or tee shots literally over the coastal cliffs? Either way, you cannot go wrong – even if your driver or 5-iron might let you down.
You also can’t go wrong with the Hibiscus Beach House, a luxury beach-front villa, just down the coast from Vale do Lobo and some of the most photogenic golf holes in the world.
Something of a special waterfront villa with its toes in the sand, you’ll feel a little bit more relaxed the second you step through the door of Hibiscus Beach House.
Coastal style pervades here, with the sea visible from almost every window and the sound of the waves always in the background. The property has been designed to reflect its position right on the edge of the ocean, with light pouring in from huge windows, a coastal-themed white and turquoise colour scheme and neutral, natural materials that bring the sea’s edge indoors.
The shared spaces are stunning, with capacious sofas for lounging on in the evenings and a sophisticated but super-comfy dining room for meals with friends. Each of the five bedrooms has its own bathroom and is a cool and airy sanctuary for you to relax in during the evenings as you recover from the day on the golf course. The stunning villa sleeps 10 in five bedrooms.
The Firefly Collection includes a number of stunning villas which would make the perfect base for a luxury golf break in Majorca.
One top-rated golf course in Majorca is the stunning Son Servera golf club, which sits in the east of the island. Fairways weave in amongst the pine trees, ready to test your accuracy.
A short hop from the golf course is Villa Serefina, with six bedrooms and a dramatic infinity pool.
