If you appreciate art and design, this luxury ski chalet in Courchevel 1850 will rock your boat. The leitmotif of Art Chalet is creative extravagance, and the place is heaving with beautiful works of art and limited edition designer furniture.
Everything about Art Chalet is spectacular. From the waterfall swimming pool surrounded by 4 flat screen TVs, to the grand piano in the music area. Imagine the most luxurious features a chalet could offer…. A private nightclub with state-of-the-art DJ equipment? Sleek glass elevators? A team of staff including private chef? A cinema room? A games room? A wine cellar? Yes. You guessed it. Art Chalet has all this and more.
Climb aboard your private, chauffeured vehicle to be transported to your mansion at the side of the Bellecote piste, among the trees above Courchevel. Let the attentive team of live-in chalet staff pamper you with champagne and canapés as you take in your magnificent surroundings. Relax in sublime comfort as your private chef prepares an aromatic meal and the manager makes all your arrangements.
With seven floors of total indulgence at your disposal, you’d be forgiven for forgetting to get out onto the slopes. But in-between the wonderful meals, cinema screenings, parties in the nightclub, and massage sessions in the spa, you really should do some skiing. Or, for non-skiers, there’s a whole world to explore in the resort.
Art Chalet may look fairly traditional (in a supersized way) but the metal sculpture by the door offers a clue to the flamboyance within. Privacy and security are of great importance and the chalet has a sophisticated security system. The live-in staff have their own quarters with a separate entrance, so that guests can relax and make themselves at home.
Sculptures, paintings, lithographies and drawings by artists such as Picasso and Warhol are liberally scattered throughout Art Chalet. Even the light fittings are art installations, and the Japanese toilets are a stylish touch. Secretly, you will be glad of a bad weather day when you can stay home and play in your fabulous mountain mansion.
Art Chalet is right by the piste for ski-in/ski-out access and being centrally located, you’re only ever a short stroll from the centre of Courchevel 1850. Though with a driver service throughout your stay, you won’t need to walk very far.
The nearest airport is Chambery, approximately 1 hour 30 minutes drive, whilst Grenoble and Lyon airports are approximately 2 hours 10 minutes and Geneva airport is 2 hours 20 minutes drive away. Moutiers rail station is also just 30 minutes’ drive.
There is also an altiport in Courchevel 1850 for those travelling by helicopter or private jet.
