Snuggled in this mountain sanctuary, you feel like you’ve truly escaped… from life’s daily stresses, from the hustle and bustle of the world at home, from everything that is ‘everyday’. Because there’s nothing everyday about this luxury ski chalet in Lech.
Chalet 1551 has been designed with only the greatest of care and attention to detail and its owners scoured the globe for the best of everything, to create a chalet that’s something really special: interior designer CasusCasa sourced handmade sofas and fabrics from Italy, handmade taps from Paris, the softest linens from Ulrichsberg, Austria. And this care and attention really shows in every room.
At the top of the chalet is a fabulous penthouse floor, with room for everyone to gather together and also enjoy a little quiet time if they wish. Relax in the bar with a drink and a book from the library, get together with friends for a movie in the entertainment room, or simply sit around the fire, enjoying the mountain views and catching up with the rest of your party on all the events of the day. Nearby is a fantastically equipped kitchen where your chef will cook up a storm for you each evening, and a cosy dining space where you and your party can enjoy fine food, fine wines and good conversation long into the evenings… And if the fine wines run low, there’s a wine vault just steps away.
Trot all the way downstairs to the ground floor and you’ll find a wonderfully appointed private spa. Take a few laps of the stunning infinity pool, relax in the Jacuzzi looking out at the mountains, and warm your very bones in the two saunas and steam room. There’s space for relaxing and restoring mind, body and soul, and masseurs and therapists can be booked on request for those who want to take their pampering to another level.
Between these two floors are the main sleeping areas. All the bedrooms at Chalet 1551 are beautifully designed with your ultimate comfort in mind. Only the plumpest of pillows and the softest of linens make the Chalet 1551 standards. Each bedroom and en-suite is a retreat in itself – somewhere you’ll be longing to lay your head each night. We recommend getting here early to claim the master suite, which is something really special. But whichever bedroom is yours here, we guarantee you’ll enjoy sweet dreams.
Chalet 1551 is located in the middle of the exclusive Arlberg ski area, Austria’s largest resort, with 305km of groomed pistes just waiting for you. The Flexenbahn also connects Lech to St Anton, giving you even more choice of ski areas.
With ski-in/ski-out access via a blue run, you never waste a moment getting out on the snow. The nearest lift station is the Schlosskopf-Sesselbahn.
Upon arrival at the drop-off point in the center of Lech, guests will be picked up by the chalet’s snow scooter, a few minutes ride to Chalet 1551.
The nearest airports are Innsbruck, approx. 1hr 30mins away or Zurich approx. 2hrs 30mins away.

All your culinary needs are catered for with an executive chef and butler to look after you throughout your stay. On arrival a welcome drink will get everything off to a good start as you meet your staff and get to know your chalet.
In the mornings your chef will serve a delicious breakfast to set you up for a day on Lech’s slopes, and when you return in the afternoon tea and coffee and snacks are laid out to welcome you back and warm you through.
In the evenings, sit back and enjoy a gastronomic feast lovingly prepared by your private Michelin chef – perhaps fine Austrian cuisine, or maybe a more laid-back, homecooked style. Whatever you want, your wish is your chef’s command. To accompany your evening meals, your butler can help pair fine wines from the chalet’s own wine vault. Please be advised that drinks will be charged for separately.
You may also wish to eat out, and Lech has a wonderful selection of restaurants to enjoy. We especially like the award-winning Griggeler Stuba in Oberlech for a very special evening meal, and, for lunch, Zur Kanne at Hotel Montana is always excellent.

On days when you aren’t all skiing, children will enjoy some of the many activities that your staff can arrange for you, from horse-sledding to alpaca trekking, and much more.
