1597? Is this gorgeous luxury chalet really more than 400 years old? Well, obviously it has been restored, extended and redesigned, but yes. Chalet 1597 is an original village house which has been given a high class makeover. Met by your courteous hosts at the door, you will quickly feel at home in the cluster of charming rooms, embellished with original features and antiques. This is how it must feel to arrive at the home of aristocratic Austrian relatives who have gone away and left you in the dedicated care of their staff.
The chef has everything under control in the kitchen, and your chauffeur and concierge await your instructions. Everywhere you look, there is wood panelling, honeyed with age; and antlers and original artworks on the walls. The deceptively large Chalet 1597 has five bedrooms, a wide variety of living areas and cosy nooks, plus a generous spa. You can really make yourselves at home here, enjoying a glass of champagne by the wood-burning Stube, settling down in the stylish cinema room, or playing a friendly game at the card table upstairs.
After a day on the well-groomed slopes around Lech, come home to a wonderful treat at your characterful residence. As the evening meal is cooking, venture down to the stone recesses of the wine cellar and tasting room. Here in the subterranean heart of Chalet 1597, you can take a journey through a selection of fine wines.
By contrast, the en-suite bedrooms in Chalet 1597 are modern and airy, whilst still retaining the charming character of the house. The spa area, with its bio-sauna, relaxation area, massage room and outdoor hot tub, is worthy of the most luxurious private health clubs.
Two days of private ski hosting are also included, so all you have to do is relax and be pampered.
Chalet 1597 is located in the Stubenbach area of Lech, part of the extensive Arlberg ski area. It is also possible to ski near to the chalet from the Rüfikoft ski area on a marked off-piste run.
The nearest airports are Innsbruck, approx. 1hr 30mins away or Zurich approx. 2hrs 30mins away.

Meals at the elegant dining table in Chalet 1597 are an unforgettable experience. Chef-cooked breakfasts, afternoon teas and evening feasts are served at the 14-seater table, beside the wood-burning fire and framed by original stone walls. The menus can be tailored to suit your preferences so just let us know in advance and the chef can create special dishes just for you and your party.
Evening champagne and canapés can be served in the atmospheric wine cellar, the elegant sitting room, or out on the terrace, as you await your mouth-watering four course dinner. Flexibility is all part of the service, so if you have children in the group, the chef can prepare separate suppers so that they don’t have to wait, and they can have the things they like to eat.
Carefully selected house wines are included, as are beers and soft drinks, and there is a wide range of fine wines and vintage treasures in the superb wine cellar. With so many interesting rooms and corners to explore, Chalet 1597 is an enchanting place to bring children. They even have their own fun bedroom with four single beds, their own bathroom and an adjacent reading corner full of cushions. The chalet has plenty of books, games and toys, and there is a dedicated cinema room next to the main living room, so you can keep an eye on them when they are watching cartoons.
You are never far from entertainment and distractions for the little ones in the fairytale setting of Lech. There are toboggan runs and horse-drawn carriages to keep them amused, and ski lessons and equipment hire can all be arranged on your behalf by the helpful chalet staff.
