You enter straight into the heart of the property – the light and spacious open-plan living space. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer outstanding views of the mountains from the cosy sofa areas, where you can warm your toes near the hanging cocoon-style fireplace, which creates a striking focal point. Nearby is a dining area for 12 where you’ll enjoy laid-back, leisurely meals while the wine and the conversation flows, and adjacent to this a sociable kitchen area, kitted out with everything you need, whether you’re self-catering or letting a chef take over for you.

Outside on the balcony is an al fresco dining space where you can really make the most of this property’s amazing location. Take your morning coffee out and then ski straight onto the piste from the ski room, or snuggle up under blankets in the evenings with a glass of wine as the sun goes down.

The proximity to the slopes is a real boon when getting out onto the snow in the mornings, but you’ll be even more pleased to be so well located when your legs are feeling the strain and it’s time to head home each day. Ski straight back to your door, kick off your skis in the boot room, and then you can be floating in the indoor swimming pool or soothing aching muscles with a massage, sauna or Hammam session, in moments. Kids will be pleased to be lounging in front of a film in the cinema room, warming themselves through with hot chocolate just minutes after returning from ski school, too.

Location

This luxury ski chalet in Courchevel 1650 is in a ski-in/ski-out location right on the piste, just moments from the ski lifts and just a five-minute walk from the centre of the village.

The nearest airport is Chambery, 1 hour 30 minutes away. Geneva, Lyon and Grenoble are all 2 hours 15 minutes away. For those travelling by train, Moutiers Railway Stations is half an hour from the chalet.

Chalet Ascension can be taken on a self-catered basis, with housekeeping and a concierge service to help you with booking restaurant tables. The property has a well-equipped kitchen with sociable bar area, where you can sit with a glass of wine and chat to whoever is ‘chef’ for the evening. Nearby is a stylish dining area with refectory-style table and seating for up to 12.

However, if you prefer to sit back and relax, a catered service with private chef is available. This will include a daily breakfast, afternoon tea and a 5-course evening meal, which includes pre-dinner Champagne and canapés, on six afternoons and evenings of your stay.

Kids

Children are sure to love this luxury family-friendly ski chalet in Courchevel Moriond. A highlight for all ages is the shimmering indoor swimming pool, where they can work off any excess energy after ski school.

Those in need of a little downtime when they get home from the slopes might prefer to watch cartoons on the flatscreen TV in the main living area, or catch a movie matinee in the separate cinema room.

The cinema room also houses bunks to sleep two children, giving them a little bolthole all of their own.
