When the snow’s falling outside there’s nowhere quite as cosy as the interiors of Chalet Bavaria. This luxury ski chalet in Verbier is a beautiful bolthole full of home comforts and has a warm welcome for all. Wood-clad walls, colourful rugs and a roaring fire set the bar high for cosiness.
Huge, squashy sofas make the living area a wonderful place to relax, read the papers, and catch up on all your friends’ adventures at the end of each day. And there are plenty of little nooks to find a quiet moment in too, from the TV snug to the chess table, to the library where you can escape for an hour or two with a book. A south-facing balcony leads off the living area, with amazing views down to the valley. Take a blanket and a glass of wine out with you to truly appreciate it at its best! Chalet Bavaria even has its very own wine cellar, with bar, where you can enjoy wine tastings and getting to know some of the local labels.
The dining area, which is open-plan to the kitchen, also has a warming glow about it. The long table seats 10 easily and is lit up in the evenings by a stunning chandelier. Whether you’re cooking for yourselves or enjoying the hard work of a private chef, it’s a space that lends itself to laughter and good conversation.
Perfectly placed for access to the snow, Chalet Bavaria also is pleasingly close when you want to return home and rest aching legs. Kick off your ski gear in the private ski room, and head straight for the spa on the ground floor, which includes a plunge pool, sauna and relaxation zone. Outside, a hot tub bubbles away, ready to welcome you and a glass of champagne any time of day.
At the end of each evening, beautiful bedrooms, each decorated in their own unique style are ready to welcome you to sweet dreams. Our top tip is to be first through the door and claim the fabulous master suite on the top floor, which features lots of little luxuries, from a Hammam shower to his and hers basins, and a quiet study area.
This luxury ski chalet in Verbier is just five minutes’ drive to the centre of town and only six minutes to the Médran lift station. The standalone building is spread over four floors with panoramic views from the balcony.
The nearest airport is Geneva, around two hours’ drive away.

If good food is a cornerstone of any holiday for you, Chalet Bavaria won’t disappoint. The property can be taken on a self-catered basis if you prefer to explore different restaurants in Verbier each night. Alternatively, for those who would like to eat in their chalet, a private chef is available.
In the mornings a continental buffet is served, including local meats and cheeses, artisan yoghurts, cereals and seasonal fruits, as well as freshly baked pastries and breads with preserves. Your chef will be on hand to take orders for cooked breakfasts, too.
On six days of seven, afternoon tea and dinner are also arranged for you. You’ll return from the slopes to find hot drinks on tap and sweet and savoury treats to warm you through. Then you’ll just have time to relax in the spa or read in the library before dinner is served, focussing on local, seasonal ingredients, with each course introduced by your chef along with paired European wines.
Bavaria’s beautiful dining room, lit by a statement chandelier, is a stylish backdrop for all your meals. For those self-catering, the open-plan kitchen has all you need to cook up a storm for your party.
On your chef’s day off, the staff will be able to help with recommendations and bookings for local restaurants.
