Perched above Verbier, this is a chalet where the location is matched by the design, and both are stunning in a laid-back kind of way. The views of the mountains are awe-inspiring but, simply framed by floor-to-ceiling windows, they delight again and again, as you pass by throughout the day, almost forgetting they are there.
The interiors of the chalet have also been designed to impress in a low-key way. Rustic stone walls and rich wood floors give the property a classically beautiful backdrop. Top-of-the-range tech, such as Sonos sound system and cinema room, with everything integrated, means that entertainment can all happen at the touch of a button.
The communal spaces here are really sociable, with a huge marble fireplace forming the heart of the property, an ideal spot to curl up with friends, a book or a glass of bubbly. The dining space comfortably seats eight to enjoy the majestic mountain views over a memorable meal prepared by chefs plucked from Europe’s best restaurants. All in all, it’s a very cosy spot indeed. If you weren’t here to enjoy the powder, you’d be forgiven for snuggling up indoors and enjoying the outdoor views from the comfort of your own capacious sofa, under a warm blanket.
The pampering spa area on the lower floor is a fabulous space in which to restore mind and body to full health, with an amazing swimming pool with adjustable floor to accommodate swimmers of all abilities and stunning views of the mountains outside. There’s an indoor Jacuzzi as well as an outdoor hot tub, depending on how the mood takes you, and plenty of space to kick back and relax.
In the evenings, once you’ve eaten well, been waited on hand and foot, and enjoyed your after-dinner drinks out on the south-facing terraces, retire to luxe bedrooms with superbly comfortable beds, soft pillows and duvets and the muffled sounds of the outdoors, covered in snow to see you off to sleep.
Chalet Calima is located right up in the heights of the town, the third chalet in the exclusive Alpine Estate, close to the renowned Le Sonalon restaurant. The nearest lifts are the Savoleyres, 3mins drive away and the Medran, 7mins drive away.
Geneva airport is approximately 2 hours drive away.

A team of chef and chalet hosts will be on hand throughout your stay to ensure you’re never hungry and your drinks are always topped up. All the chalet’s chefs have been selected for their training and experience, having worked in some of the best restaurants in the world, and all aim to cook with only the best local and seasonal ingredients, wherever possible.
Each morning, you’ll wake to a table stacked with mueslis, local yoghurts, freshly baked, fruit, smoothies, charcuterie and local cheeses. For those who like to make breakfast a real event there’s also a selection of cooked breakfast specials on offer each morning and the staff are always happy to cook favourite dishes for anyone with a yearning for something in particular. All that should set you up nicely for an energetic day’s skiing and when you return in the afternoon, hot drinks and snacks are waiting to warm you through: Kumsi tea, Nespresso coffee and hot chocolate, as well as homemade cakes and biscuits and savoury options if you prefer.
In the evenings, gather round the fire with your friends for champagne and canapés as you catch up on what you’ve all been up to during the day and your chef puts the finishing touches to your evening meal. Your chef will be happy to introduce each of the three courses, accompanied by a selection of fine European wines and followed by a locally inspired cheeseboard and then digestifs or coffees back around the fire.
Any personal likes, dislikes and dietary requirements can be taken into account and your chef will be in touch before your stay to discuss your needs. An early children’s tea can also be arranged for families so that children don’t have to be on best behaviour at the dinner table and adults can enjoy a more leisurely meal post bedtime.

The private swimming pool is an obvious bonus for families but this one is something really special, with a floor that can change height to accommodate your needs. Simply raise the floor to the point at which your children can comfortably stand in the water and nervous swimmers will be away.
The cinema room is also sure to be popular on afternoons after ski school when all they want is to collapse in front of a film.
To make parents’ lives easier, dedicated kids’ teas and childcare can be provided on request and cots and highchairs are also available.
