High on style and low on stress, this luxury chalet near Chamonix is the perfect bolthole for discerning skiers.
The property is adjoined by a beautiful forest with lots of trails to wander around, and the chalet faces south so its terraces and gardens attract the best of the sunshine. Step inside and this stunning, contemporary space, designed using natural materials, simply cocoons you. Rich woods and stone are complemented by slubby linens, plush velvets and faux furs, all in neutral shades. It feels very easy to relax here.
The main living space is sociable, spacious and bright with floor-to-ceiling windows that open out onto the terrace and frame spectacular views of the mountains beyond. A contemporary fireplace is at the heart of this space, with squashy sofas in one half of the living room and a quiet reading area in the other, separated by bookshelves. Nearby is an elegant dining space where you can enjoy long, leisurely meals while watching the snow fall outside through the windows. A separate home cinema room nearby is the ideal spot for snuggling down with popcorn, blankets and a favourite movie on chilly afternoons.
Down on the ground floor you’ll find the relaxing spa area. Take a dip in the beautiful swimming pool, lie back in the sauna to soothe any aches and pains, or simply indulge in a couple of hours on a lounger, pool side with a good book in one hand and a drink in the other.

Chalet Freya is a luxury family-friendly ski chalet where younger guests are made most welcome.
Kids will enjoy the home cinema room on snowy afternoons after ski school – pile them all in front of a film with popcorn and enjoy the cuddles.
Children of all ages will love relaxing in the private swimming pool in the spa area. The polar bear statue who looks over the swimming pool is always popular, too.
The space itself is well laid-out for families, with plenty of room to play and spaces you can ‘zone off’ for kids when they need a bit of quiet time. The whole of the second floor serves as a great family suite, with a double and twin room, bathroom, dressing room and office area, so kids can be close to mum and dad at night time.
Your chef will also be happy to prepare children’s suppers in the early evenings so that the grown-ups can enjoy a more leisurely meal after bedtime.
