Stepping into Chalet Husky is like stepping into the pages of Elle Decoration. This uber stylish pad, close to the heart of Val d’Isere is impressive and quirky in equal measure. Not one gadget, item of furniture or piece of artwork in this property could be described as ‘run of the mill’ so prepare to be wowed!
The first floor, where the main living areas are situated, includes living and dining rooms, both with fires, a smart kitchen and even a bar. Clusters of tasselled lampshades, hung from exposed rafters, illuminate the modern dining table surrounded by ‘Ghost’ style perpex chairs and faux fur cushions. You won’t be short of a talking point over dinner!
Across the glass footbridge that overlooks the internal garden (yes, really!) the living area is equally eclectic with exposed brickwork on the chimney wall, expansive velvet and mock croc sofas and an array of quirky animal cushions and objet d’arts.
The Alice-in-Wonderland-style interiors continue into the bedroom. Each is tastefully but thoughtfully decorated in its own individual style. All of the bedrooms have en-suites and their own televisions, so offer a little haven to escape to if you want a bit of time to yourself during your break.
The chalet is only moments from the slopes but there is plenty to keep you busy when not skiing. The sauna is fantastically appointed, with Hammam, treatment room for massages, a Jacuzzi and more. The stunning swimming pool with waterfall façade offers a truly relaxing soak, and if the private gym doesn’t offer you enough scope for exercise, the property even has its own indoor climbing wall. We did say it was a little bit out of the ordinary, didn’t we?
Chalet Husky is located just a 10 minute stroll from the centre of Val d’Isere and an 8-10 minute walk to the Bellevarde Express lift. However, with an in-resort driver service on hand you won’t need to walk anywhere if you prefer not to.
Chambery airport is just under 2 hours drive and Geneva airport is approximately 3 hours drive away.
