Situated in Montriond just outside Morzine, this exquisite architectural transformation has kept every soupçon of charm our French ancestors would have envisaged. This luxury ski chalet has been impeccably and thoughtfully renovated, leaving the 18th Century building predominantly in tact with the 250 year old beams still holding the place together.
Featured on the ground floor is the lavish swimming pool with a splendid swing suspended over one end. Alongside you have a Hammam and the all important indoor Jacuzzi bubbling away in the corner. If a movie night or gaming experience is more your thing, the divine snug clad in beautiful aged wood contains a huge LED TV with every channel imaginable awaits on this level too.
Climb up the stone staircase and bear witness to the primary feature of this extraordinary building. The open plan living/dining area is a mind-blowing work of architectural art. Maintaining the original beams and cleverly combining the old and new by slotting in a glass floor, the designers have opened the entire home up. This genius design floods the entire house with, not only natural light but the azure swimming pool lights dancing up from below.
The living space is segregated into separate yet conjoined areas including an Italian DeManincor island kitchen that is simply stunning. The grand dining area seats 13 of your closest friends in consummate comfort and when you’ve finished your mouth watering dinner, you can wander across to the pièce de resistance; the floating wine cellar above the swimming pool. It wouldn’t normally be such a big deal but factor in the glorious glass floor beneath you and allow the blue waters to light up the bar above and it’s the perfect place for a glass of, well anything!
La Maison is located right in the heart of the Montriond village square, a short drive into the main centre of Morzine.
Skiing is easily accessed by the Ardent lift, approx. 10mins chauffeured drive away, giving access straight into the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski area. On route, you will also pass the breathtaking Lac de Montriond where you can ice dive in the winter, or bathe come summer.
The nearest airport is Geneva, approx. 1hr 20mins drive.
