Rustic good looks are what makes this luxury ski chalet in Les Houches, Chamonix a home from home. The building was originally a farmhouse, built in 1833. It has since been carefully and thoughtfully renovated to include every luxury and detail that will make your holiday here truly special.
Chalet Norel’s unique setting, right on the Kandahar slopes in Les Houches, with the facility to ski in and out, is what makes this luxury ski chalet a real treat. You’ll never waste a second getting out onto the snow in the mornings. And when you’re ready to come home, warm yourself in front of the fire and refuel on hot drinks and homemade cakes, you can ski straight back to the door, chuck your ski gear in the ski room and be on the sofa ready for some serious rest and relaxation in moments.
This is a fabulous property for a sociable gathering of friends. In the main living spaces, floor-to-ceiling windows flood the property with light and offer wonderful views of the mountains, while wooden floors and rustic vaulted ceilings bring a really relaxed feel. The sunken lounge area has a large corner sofa (and a sledge coffee table, of course!) with room for everyone to sprawl in the afternoons and catch up on all the action from the slopes. Adjacent is a sociable dining area where you and your fellow guests will enjoy meals long into the evening. A breakfast bar looks out into the kitchen so you can gather and watch your chef at work or simply catch up with your friends over a few glasses of wine. And outside is a spacious terrace, home to an outdoor Jacuzzi and also a wonderful spot to take a drink and just take in the view of the valley.
A mezzanine floor houses a media room and chill-out area, so there’s always somewhere for everyone to escape to, whether the kids want to watch a movie while the adults have drinks, or some of you want to kick back in the afternoon with a book or a film. And if you like your rest and relaxation turned up to eleven, just trot down to the spa where you can treat your aching legs in the sauna and steam room.
Supremely comfy and cosy bedrooms with lovely surprises, from corner bath tubs to TVs, mean everyone has a luxury room to retreat to at the end of each action-packed day.
Located in Les Houches, Chalet Norel is perched directly on the famous Kandahar World Cup slope “La Verte”, just above the very famous “Saut de la Route”. The position offers ski-in/ski-out access (red/black run), so you can be skiing within seconds of walking out the door.
You can be in the centre of Chamonix with its plethora of bars, restaurants and boutique shops in 12mins by car.
The nearest airport is Geneva which is just over an hour’s drive.

On arrival at your luxury ski chalet in Chamonix, you’ll enjoy a champagne and canape reception. Put your feet up as soon as you walk through the door and let the staff take care of everything else as you relax into your holiday.
In the mornings, a continental and cooked breakfast will be served, so you’ll awake to the delicious aroma of fresh coffee and other treats wafting through the chalet. On your return from the slopes afternoon tea is ready and waiting to warm you through and refuel you after your day’s exertions.
Then, on six nights out of seven, a gourmet four-course dinner is served alongside a selection of fine wines. The menus can be entirely tailored to you, taking into account any likes, dislikes or whims, whether you want cordon-bleu style menus or something delicious and comforting in front of the TV.
Your chef will be happy to prepare a child-friendly tea to have earlier in the evening so that the grown-ups can enjoy a more sedate dinner later on.
On your chef’s day off, staff will be pleased to assist with the booking of restaurant tables. We particularly like Albert Premier and Maison Carrier.
Chalet Norel can also be taken on a self-catered basis for those who prefer cooking for themselves, or allowing you the flexibility to enjoy the many bars and restaurants of Chamonix.
