Chalet Orso is a stunning chalet set in Le Fornet, where those who are serious about skiing can make the most of the proximity to the lifts and slopes as well as all that Val d’Isere has to offer a five-minute drive away.
Perfectly located though it is, we think once you step inside the door of this luxury ski chalet and straight onto the heated floors, you won’t want to leave.
The property is decked out in traditional stones and woods, but with ultra-contemporary furniture, furnishings and gadgetry. Lounge together with the rest of your party in the modern living space, with cathedral-style ceiling and floor-to-ceiling windows that give you a magnificent view out onto the mountain, and a statement fireplace and stacks of throws to warm you as you enjoy the view.
Adjacent is a modern dining room, lit by many small overhead lights – a modern take on a traditional chandelier – and above, the magical mezzanine floor, with foosball, ‘flipper’ game, a vinyl jukebox and more, all with a perfect view of the village.
After a long day on the slopes, Chalet Orso offers plenty of pampering for aching muscles and tired legs. The spa down on the ground floor has a hammam and sauna as well as a swimming pool where you can do a few lengths before jumping into the Jacuzzi. Handily, the wine cellar is next door to the spa, so you can grab a bottle on your way back upstairs.
Each of the en-suite bedrooms is like a cosy cocoon, with supremely comfortable beds, and super-soft pillows and throws, all expertly plumped and smoothed for you by the chalet’s staff each day. The master bedroom is a particular gem, with the fireplace down one wall to up the cosy factor even further, and its own office and dressing area.
Before you turn in though, we recommend you make time to spend a little while out on the spacious terrace, either bubbling in the hot tub with a nightcap or wrapped in the chalet’s blanket with a mug of something to warm you through, and enjoy that stunning view. With that perfect outlook, every home comfort you could wish for and staff always on hand to ensure it all comes together, luxury ski holidays don’t come much more impressive than this.
For larger groups Chalet Orso can be rented together with Chalet Orca to accommodate larger groups up to 24 + 5 guests.
Location
Chalet Orso is located at highest point of Le Fornet, an idyllic village just outside the popular resort of Val d’Isere.
The nearest ski lift is a short distance away, although an in-resort driver service is available during your stay.
Chambery airport is approximately 2 hours drive away whilst Geneva is approximately 3 hours away.

During your stay your chef is available for breakfast and dinner. Just decide what time you’d like your day to start and your chef will ensure that breakfast is ready and waiting for you, and offers something for every palate.
Again, for your evening meal, you make all the decisions; directing the chalet’s staff as to whether you prefer a gastronomic French feast, simple comfort food, or something much lighter. Your chef and butler are both handpicked from some of the best restaurants and hotels and know exactly how to ensure your holiday goes smoothly and that every meal is one to remember for all the best reasons.
Staff will be happy to make restaurant reservations for you, too. Le Fornet is home to the popular Le Signal at the top of the cable car, as well as the two-Michelin-starred L’Atelier Edmond.

Kids
This family friendly ski chalet is a great choice for those with kids of all ages.
There’s plenty to keep children busy when they aren’t on the slopes, from the Foosball table to computer games and much more. They’ll love splashing in the swimming pool and all the communal rooms have plenty of space to play, too.
The bunk room would sleep either a couple and three children, or a large gaggle of kids as a children’s den.
With a garage, ski room, lift and children’s playroom, life here couldn’t be more stress-free for families.
