If style is as important to you as skiing, Chalet Rive Gauche is exactly what you’re looking for.
One of the splendid creations of the celebrated architect Michel Covarel, Rive Gauche is a truly awesome place in which to spend a week.
Rustic yet modern, slick yet oh-so-comfortable, the eclectic interior has been perfectly thought out. The open fire, exposed stone and warm timbers make the living area a welcoming spot to unwind after a busy day on the slopes, and characterful touches such as the faux stags’ heads bring a homely, whimsical charm.
With their chunky wood bedsteads and spa-style en suites, each bedroom is a haven of comfort and relaxation, offering all guests a place to enjoy some quiet time to themselves.
And if you haven’t relaxed enough already, the lower floor of the chalet is given over to a private hammam and swimming pool where you can rest both body and mind while looking out over the river.
Attentive staff are always on hand to arrange your skiing, transfers, meals and anything else you care to think of, leaving you free to enjoy your ski break.
Chalet Rive Gauche is in the Le Fornet hamlet of Val d’Isere, at the bottom of the blue Mangard ski run, just 300m from the cable car. In good snow conditions you can ski right back to the door at this luxury ski chalet.
The centre of Val d’Isere is a 7 minute chauffeured drive away.
Chambery airport is just under 2 hours drive away whilst Geneva is approximately 3 hours away.

In the mornings, you’ll enjoy freshly prepared breakfasts including yoghurt, fruit, fresh bread and pastries or if you feel like something a bit more hearty why not opt for bacon sandwiches or smoked salmon and eggs on toast. When you return in the afternoons a warming afternoon tea with hot drink will be ready and waiting for you.
On one evening of your choice, champagne and canapés are served, and it’s not just any old bubbly. All the champagne is delivered direct from a boutique champagne house in the Grand Cru village of Ay.
On five evenings of your stay, you can enjoy a delicious three-course meal which can be tailored to your specific wishes and needs. Alongside your fine cuisine you can sample complimentary hand selected house wines and a selection of spirits and soft drinks are also available. On two evenings, you’ll be free to explore the wonderful eateries in Val d’Isere and your chalet host will be happy to make any recommendations or bookings for you.
If you are bringing little ones with you your chef will be happy to prepare a special children’s tea earlier in the evening for them so they can enjoy a more relaxed meal and you can let your hair down after bedtime.
