For those who care as much about comfort and cosiness as they do about style, Chalet Valambrun is a winner. With bedrooms furnished with Christian Lacroix and Ralph Lauren, there’s no shortage of designer good looks here, but sumptuous throws and warm sheepskins provide equal amounts of ‘aaah factor’. In fact, one of the bedrooms even has its own stove. You don’t get much more cosy than that.
The main living areas in this luxury ski chalet are just perfect for a gathering of family or good friends. An L-shaped sofa by the side of the fire creates a warm corner for you to get together after a day on the slopes and catch up on everyone’s adventures. The whole living space is beautifully light and airy in the daytime, when sunlight streams through the floor-to-ceiling doors that lead out onto the sunny balconies. But in the evenings, twinkling lights, Sonos sound system and stacks of board games make this a supremely cosy place to dine, drink and soak up the convivial atmosphere.
Rest and relaxation is high on the agenda, too. Between the outdoor cedar hot tub in which you can soak away any aches and pains with a view of the snow and a glass of bubbly in your hand, and the steam room, there’s always somewhere for everyone to soothe both body and soul. But the jewel in this luxury chalet’s crown must be the delightful indoor swimming pool, where you can swim beneath twinkling star-style lights. You can even peek down on the swimming pool through the glass ceiling from one of the bedrooms.
With easy access to two lift stations, you’re never more than moments from the powder and everything is made as simple as possible, with a lovely handcrafted wooden ski room, with boot and glove dryers to ensure all your ski gear is always dry and toasty and ready at a moment’s notice.
Chalet Valambrun is located on the Route des Grandes Alpes, just a few minutes walk away from the main street of shops, bars and restaurants.
The Chavannes lift is approximately 700 metres away, making it a fabulous location for keen skiers. An in-resort drier service is also at your disposal to whisk you to the local ski lifts and pick you up again each day.
The nearest airport is Geneva, which is approx. 1hr 15mins away. The chalet also has off-street parking for those driving to resort.
