When you’ve got a fabulous location, you should make the most of it, and make the most of it Chalet Valhalla certainly does. This luxury ski chalet in Chamonix is a stroll from the town centre yet peacefully located just slightly away from the crowds, next to the forest. But the best aspect of its location is the fabulous mountain view it affords, which is jaw-droppingly spectacular.
From your squashy sofa in front of the fire in the double-height living room, you have a picture-perfect view of the snowy peaks through floor-to-ceiling windows, and a mezzanine area above it ensures the views are fully taken advantage of. Presided over by a fabulous open fire and a rather characterful moose’s head, you certainly won’t struggle for a talking point.
The chalet has been thoughtfully and tastefully designed using high-quality natural materials for a luxurious, laid-back feel. Pared-back Scandi-chic style sets off the light-filled dining room perfectly and there’s even a sunny terrace that’s an ideal spot for taking in that view over a morning coffee.
After your morning on the slopes, your warm and cosy chalet, with afternoon tea laid out for you is a welcome sight. If you finish your homemade cakes quickly, you might just have time for a relaxing dip in the outdoor hot tub or soothe aching muscles in the barrel sauna.
Each of the seven bedrooms is restful and ultra-comfortable and has its own en-suite bathroom for a little pampering before dinner each night. Dinner is a gastronomic affair and good food and wine is one of the cornerstones of life at Chalet Valhalla. You can be sure of retiring to bed replete and relaxed.
Chalet Valhalla is set in the heart of Chamonix but has a peaceful location beside woodland. It is a 10 minute walk to the centre of town and the nearest ski lift.
