Relax in your own tropical paradise at this beachfront house in Barbados, where every thought has been given to the little details and the views from every window are postcard perfect.

The villa is architect-designed, using local materials wherever possible, and making the most of the ocean views with doors that fold right back, open-plan spaces and glass walls maximising the light and space.

In the huge living room neutral shades and a cool limestone floor provide a calming backdrop for coastal-themed artwork and furnishings, from a feature wall depicting local coral to driftwood-style lamp bases and coffee tables. Comfy designer sofas are large enough to encourage ocean-view lounging and provide a space to gather with friends and catch up in the cool of the house on hot days. A beautiful Whetstone Oak dining table is the setting for delicious meals whipped up in the contemporary kitchen, where either you or your private chef can make the most of the top-of-the-range gadgetry. As well as the main living and entertaining spaces, Godings Beach House also has its own private cinema, gym and study, so there’s always somewhere to find a little peace and quiet if you need it.

The gated landscaped gardens offer complete privacy and plenty to keep everyone busy, too, from the stunning swimming pool that looks out to the ocean, to the yoga pavilion that stands ready for sunrise yoga classes. And if it’s adventure you’re after, just ask the villa staff to arrange it for you, whether your choice is horse riding or kayaking, stand-up paddle-boarding or surfing. One of the most magical things about the gardens, however, is the pebbly path that you can follow straight to the beach, particularly early in the morning when you can have the waves to yourself.

With busy, sunny days and the sound and scent of the ocean wafting in through your bedroom window at nighttime, a sound night’s sleep should never be a concern. But just in case, each en-suite bedroom at the top of the double staircase has been carefully designed for your ultimate comfort. Walk-in dressing rooms, Hansgrohe rain showers and a bath tub with a gorgeous view, ensure every room has the feel of a boutique hotel.

This luxury beachfront villa in Barbados is in St Peter, in the Platinum Coast area, on the west side of Barbados.

The nearest airport is Grantley Adams, around 40 minutes’ drive away.

Transfers to and from the airport can be arranged.

Eating

Catering at Godings Beach House is as flexible as you need it to be. If you’re looking for total relaxation, make the most of the private chef service. Staff are on hand to whip up delicious breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Alternatively, pre-cooked meal deliveries or pre-arrival grocery stocking, for you to self-cater, can be arranged.  There’s even the option to enjoy a mix of all three.

For those self-catering, the property has a beautifully equipped designer kitchen with all the gadgets you could need. The kitchen also has a big breakfast table and wall-mounted TV for laid-back mornings, and there’s a bespoke oak table in the dining area. There are further dining spaces outside, too.

Kids

Children will be wowed by this beachfront villa in Barbados, and in particular its private swimming pool and direct beach access.

For indoor entertainment, there’s a cinema room where they can sprawl in front of a film, and teens will be pleased to hear there is Sonos sound in every room. The open-plan spaces and gardens provide plenty of space for kids to run about and burn off energy.

If they’re feeling a little more adventurous, kids can take part in water sports such as surfing and diving and the property has surfboards, kayaks, and stand-up paddle boards to use.
