Description

Overflowing with Provencal charm, this characterful luxury villa in the Luberon is a wonderful place in which to escape the world for a week.

As is traditional in this area, you enter the villa through the dining room, putting food and good times at the very heart of life at The Mas Vermentino, Provence. Rustic wood beams above and lime plaster and exposed stone on the walls provides plenty of atmosphere and a cool spot for a lazy lunch or a cosy backdrop for a leisurely dinner. Close by is a farmhouse-style kitchen with a breakfast bar and stools where you can watch your chef at work or gather together with a glass of wine in the evenings.

The villa boasts two living spaces, both showcasing the history of the property with exposed stone walls and terracotta floors complemented by slubby linens on the sofas and neutral and deep orange furnishings. The smaller of the two rooms is intended as a ‘board games and films’ family room, but you can use them however you wish, for watching TV, catching up with friends or just as a quiet space for relaxation.

Each of the six bedrooms is individually designed to be a cool and quiet place to wind down at the end of the day. Each bedroom is kitted out with a safe, TV and wifi so everyone has their own little bolthole to escape to if they wish, and there are luxury bath products in each of the en-suite bathrooms.

While unarguably beautiful inside, The Mas Vermentino’s best side is surely its outdoor spaces. The inner courtyard with its covered terraces, tables and seats allows you to sit back and take time to appreciate the property’s amazing views over a coffee in the morning or a glass of wine as the sun sets. With the scent of lavender gently wafting in on the breeze, this is a lovely spot to just ‘be’ for a few hours. Behind the villa, is a private swimming pool, surrounded by lush bougainvillaea and sun loungers, and nearby a traditional pétanque court – just don’t forget your glass of pastis! On balmy evenings, you’ll want to make the most of the outdoor dining area, which comfortably seats 12 for a barbecue supper, and even has its own fireplace should the evening turn chilly.
