Contemporary, stylish and perfectly placed, this luxury self-catered ski chalet in Zermatt is something a little bit special.
With ski-in/ski-out access in good snow conditions and close to the Zermatt Matterhorn Express lift station, it couldn’t be better placed to take advantage of the best of Zermatt’s slopes. But while there are hundreds of traditional ski chalets in the area, Panicha Penthouse offers something distinctly different from the rest.
Under the sloping eaves of this penthouse apartment, capacious sofas and armchairs, gathered around the statement fireplace, bring a gentlemen’s club feel. Nearby is a cosy dining area beneath an elegant chandelier, where you’ll enjoy long, leisurely meals created by your private chef in the adjacent kitchen, which is decked out with all the gadgets you could need, right down to the Nespresso coffee machine.
Each of the contemporary bedrooms, decorated in a neutral palette and set off by rustic woods and stone, provides a cosy bolthole for you to escape to at the end of each day. And the spa-style bathrooms, each with their own bit of character, allow you to make an event of even your everyday ablutions.
Everything has been thought of here to make your holiday as stress-free as possible, from the extra throws on the end of every bed and chair to ensure you’re snug at all times, to the laundry and ski rooms down in the basement that allow you to kick off your ski gear when you get home and have it all dry and warm ready for the following morning.
The cream on the Nespresso coffee, however, with this property, must be the wonderful balcony off the main living space. An outdoor living room, scattered with sheepskin throws and cushions to up the cosy factor, views of the mountain and the iconic Matterhorn, the forest and the cable car, and even a telescope so you can get up close to the stars as they light up Zermatt’s sky… there’s nowhere we’d rather be.
Set in a tranquil building, Panicha Penthouse is best suited to those who prefer a peaceful environment as quiet consideration to the neighbours is appreciated.
Located close to both the slopes and the lifts, Panicha Penthouse offers ski-in/ski-out access (in good snow conditions).
There are two entrances that you can ski straight into or out of: one is just 100m from the bottom of the Furi-Zermatt slope and makes an ideal quick exit front the snow at the end of your skiing day; it’s also a flat 300m ski to the lift station from here in the mornings. The other entrance is just 300m walk to the Matterhorn Express lift, and 50m from the nearest bus stop.
Zermatt is a car-free resort which has a railway station, so guests often arrive by train.
Geneva Airport is approximately 3 hours drive away.
