Sleek, stylish and offering panoramic views of the mountains, Penthouse Mathilde is a luxurious duplex apartment right in the centre of Morzine. Sleeping up to nine guests, and providing all the amenities you’d expect in a more traditional chalet, this spacious self-catered apartment is a fantastic way to experience the best of Morzine’s bustling atmosphere, without compromising on accommodation.
Enter the apartment on the lower floor and you’ll be greeted by three of the bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, luxury spa products and big comfortable beds – which you’ll fall into after a day on the slopes. A similar fourth bedroom is located on the top floor.
It’s on this second floor of Penthouse Mathilde that the wow factor really kicks in though. Here, find a central open-plan living space, consisting of a kitchen, lounge and dining area, with floor to ceiling windows to fill the space with light and draw your eye out to the snow-capped mountains in the distance. Great care has been taken in the styling and décor of the apartment and the little touches are clearly apparent as you wander from corner to corner, admiring the views, warming your toes by the feature fireplace and snuggling up on the sofa.
If you’re in need of a little me time, head up to the mezzanine level where you’ll find a bar and lounge. Fix yourself a cocktail and curl up with a book while the rest of the party gets together downstairs, or surprise the others by returning with a trayful of drinks.
For sunny evenings or starry nights, the place to be at Penthouse Mathilde is undoubtedly the wrap-around balcony. No matter if you’re enjoying the views with a hot chocolate or soaking sore legs in the private outdoor hot tub, there’s no better spot to get in the holiday mood.
Penthouse Mathilde occupies the top two floors of the iconic Les Barmes des Mossettes building, in the centre of Morzine. There are numerous restaurants, bars and shops right on the doorstep, and the nearest Super Morzine ski lift is approximately 500m away.
The nearest airport is in Geneva, which is approximate 1hr 20mins drive away.

Given its location in the heart of Morzine, Penthouse Mathilde is offered on a self-catering basis, so you can make the most of the top quality restaurants and bars in the resort. That said, when you arrive you’ll find a thoughtfully packed hamper, with all the essentials plus a few local specialities and a bottle or two of wine.
The fantastic La Chaudanne restaurant is just opposite the apartment and a must-visit Savoyard spot, but there are also lots of other great restaurants too.
If you enjoy cooking, take advantage of the apartment’s state of the art kitchen appliances and get stuck in. The open-plan kitchen and dining area means everyone can chip in while still socialising, and there are supermarkets and deli shops in Morzine village where you can easily pick up all the ingredients you might need. If it’s warm enough you could even eat out on the balcony!
Penthouse Mathilde’s central location makes it a winner for families with small kids who need to get to and from ski school every day. You won’t have to worry about running late or carrying multiple sets of skis here, as one of Morzine’s main lifts is just 500m from the apartment door.
In the apartment itself there is plenty to keep little ones entertained, not least a huge TV and games console. Of course, the hot tub will no doubt be a big hit too, as long as parents are prepared to have their R&R disrupted by splashing and shrieking!
For families, one of the bedrooms can be converted into twin beds, and another has an overhead bunk bed. And if you’d like to bring the kids but also have some adults-only time, childcare can be arranged on request so you can leave the little rascals in safe hands while you head out for a relaxing dinner.

Low and high seasons vary by location and by property, but the general pattern is as follows:
Chalets
Low season is usually early/mid-December, mid-January, plus the summer months.
Mid season is usually early February, March and April.
High season is usually Xmas, New Year and mid/end February.
European Villas
Low season is usually April, May and October.
Mid season is usually June and September.
High season is usually July and August.
Caribbean Villas
Low season is usually June to November.
Mid season is usually November to mid-December and mid-April to June.
High season is usually mid-December to mid-April.
