Since opening in 2013 The Chedi Andermatt has already become something of an institution. A world-class luxury ski hotel, it’s been awarded countless honours for doing what it does best – providing a simply magical break for those who love the finer things in life as much as they love to ski.
The Chedi Andermatt is an exclusive five star hotel in the pretty town of Andermatt. Encircled by mountains, there is top notch skiing on every side and the hotel itself is perfectly located.
The hotel is a beautiful blend of traditional Swiss design and Asian influences – from the renowned Japanese Restaurant to the zen-like day spa. Each of the relaxing, luxury rooms and suites is equipped with everything you could wish for in a beautiful snowy bolthole. Natural woods and stones give the rooms rustic appeal and fires and soft leather armchairs bring a touch of hygge to your evenings as you settle down for bed.
When you aren’t out on the slopes, accompanied by one of the hotel’s dedicated ski butlers, who will see you to the snow with all your kit, there is plenty to entertain you at this luxury ski hotel. The day spa is second to none and has become a destination in itself locally. You’ll leave the spa feeling not just rested and relaxed but like a whole new person – no matter how many sakes you had the previous night and how hard you took the slopes that morning.
One of the highlights of a stay at The Chedi Andermatt must be the food and drink. Enjoy a Michelin star Japanese gourmet feast, a long and leisurely meal in The Restaurant or something more Swiss and laid-back like a Raclette at the edge of this luxury hotel’s very own ice rink.
And never let it be said the luxury extras are ignored here. Fancy a fabulous cigar bar? You got it. Walk-in cheese thermidor? Of course. Switzerland’s most extensive sake bar? Well, you’d expect as much here. Safe to say your every whim is catered for at The Chedi Andermatt.
The Chedi Andermatt is located in the lovely Swiss town of Andermatt, which is encircled by stunning mountain scenery. The hotel is just a short walk away from the centre of town and all its bars and restaurants, though The Chedi Andermatt is also a bit of a destination in itself. The nearest ski lifts are within a 5-10 minute walk, though the hotel offers a shuttle service to transport you to and from the slopes in no time.
If you are arriving by train, complimentary transfers are included from Göschenen station, which is just a 10 minute drive away. Andermatt station is also conveniently located just across the street from this luxury ski hotel, and on arrival you’ll be warmly greeted by a member of reception staff who will assist with your luggage.
