The Furka Suite is situated in the penthouse spot of The Chedi Andermatt, a hotel known internationally for its five-star service, fabulous spa and luxe extras. Both the hotel and The Furka Suite itself are created by the renowned designer Jean-Michel Gathy, and this meeting of luxury ski chalet and New York penthouse is a style-lover’s dream. From the stunning pitched ceilings, to the natural stone, warm woods and understatedly stylish soft furnishings, everything is thoughtfully considered, perfectly executed.
The master bedroom with its chapelesque arched ceiling is a stunning space to retreat to at the end of each day, with his and hers dressing areas and little treats such as Acqua di Parma toiletries to ensure you feel thoroughly pampered every minute of your stay. The other two bedrooms are also generously sized and all the bedrooms have handmade Swedish Hastens beds that promise a wonderful night’s sleep.
As well as enjoying access to The Chedi Andermatt’s spectacular spa, The Furka Suite has its own private spa area too, so you need not even leave the comfort of your chalet to relax in the sauna, Turkish bath or Jacuzzi.
The Furka’s lovely communal living spaces make for the perfect backdrop to an evening catching up with friends and family and sharing stories of the day’s events on the slopes. Comfortable armchairs are gathered around a central circular fireplace and nearby an L-shaped sofa is piled high with throws and cushions to cosy up with. After dinner in the romantic dark-wood dining room, take your drinks out onto the mountain view balcony and peek through snowy pines to the enormous mountain beyond over a glass or two of the chalet’s fine wines.
Location
The Furka Suite is part of The Chedi Andermatt in the lovely Swiss town of Andermatt, which is encircled by stunning mountains. The hotel is close to the centre of town and all its bars and restaurants but is a destination in itself. The nearest ski lifts are within a 5-10 minute walk, though the hotel offers a shuttle service to transport you to and from the slopes in no time.
If you are arriving by train, complimentary transfers are included from Göschenen station, which is just a 10 minute drive away. Andermatt station is also conveniently located just across the street from this luxury ski hotel, and on arrival you’ll be warmly greeted by a member of reception staff who will assist with your luggage.
Alternatively transfers or private chauffeured limousines can be arranged on request to and from Zurich, Milan, Lucerne and Buochs airports.
The nearest airports are Zurich, 1h 30m away by car, and Milan 2h away.

There is room to accommodate a further two guests in the Furka Suite. Two rollaway beds can be added on request to the bedrooms or living area. Alternatively two children up to 12 years can be accommodated on the sofa bed.
Dining
The Furka Suite has a sophisticated dining area where you can enjoy the hotel’s truly spectacular food and drink, as well as its own private wine cabinet. There’s also a full kitchen should you wish to cater for yourselves.
Alternatively, you can go and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere in The Chedi Andermatt’s restaurants: ‘The Restaurant’, serving pan-European and Asian gastronomy, and Michelin starred, ‘The Japanese Restaurant’ where you can enjoy some of the finest sushi, sashimi, tempura and other Asian specialities you’ll ever taste.
The hotel also has a private wine dining room, where experts can guide a group of you through some of the vintage bottles for a wine tasting evening, alongside gourmet snacks.

Kids
This Furka Suite is part of the very exclusive The Chedi Andermatt, so is a good way for those travelling with children to enjoy all the hotel has to offer, but with a bit of extra space and privacy for the kids.
There is a children’s menu in The Restaurant, and lots to keep them busy during their stay. Little ones are sure to love the hotel’s indoor and outdoor pools as well as the fabulous courtyard ice rink in the winter months.
The Chedi Andermatt runs a wonderful free kids’ club for four to 12-year-olds. Children can take part in cookery classes, activities on the ice rink, movie nights and much more. Meals can be arranged for them at the kids’ club and babysitters can also be booked on request if you want to enjoy an adult evening out.
