Contemporary and cosy, a stay in Tuftra Penthouse will leave you feeling on top of the world. Tucked in the Winklematten area and right on the edge of the forest, this beautiful self-catered apartment will give you a real sense of peace when you’re up here.
This luxury penthouse is made up of two adjacent apartments, Tuftra 2 Bedroom Penthouse and Tuftra 3 Bedroom Penthouse. Each have their own living areas, giving the perfect option if you’re a group of two families. The flexible arrangement means you can be as independent or sociable as you like on your luxury ski holiday.
The light and airy open-plan living areas each have an open fireplace, vaulted ceilings and shared balcony with mountain views. As well as the homely living and dining areas, there are uber-modern kitchens where would-be chefs will enjoy cooking up a storm for friends and family. Each apartment also has its own private laundry facilities for your convenience.
Before you turn in for the night and snuggle under luxury bed linens in your cosy room, take a moment to enjoy your nightcap out on the balcony, whilst taking in the wonderful views. With twinkling stars and the dark mountains looming over the town, it’s magical.
Tuftra Penthouse is peacefully nestled on the edge of a forest in the exclusive Winklematten area of Zermatt. There are some restaurants, bars, a shop and a children’s play area within 5 minute’s walk of the apartment.
In good snow conditions, it is possible to ski out through the meadow and down to the Klein Matterhorn Express (otherwise approx. 10mins walk), then ski back to the property down the Moosweg ski-run.
The centre of Zermatt itself is approx. 15-20 minutes’ walk away or 6 minutes in an electo-taxi or on the bus.
Zermatt is a car-free resort which has a railway station, so guests often arrive by train. The nearest airport is Geneva, which is approximately 3 hours away.

Tuftra Penthouse is offered on a self-catered basis, giving you plenty of freedom to make the most of the local restaurants. The in-resort concierge will be happy to make reservations for you wherever you wish.
The property offers not one, but two well-equipped kitchens, which amateur chefs are sure to enjoy using. They are open-plan to the living and dining areas, making for a sociable evening for everyone.
There are some fantastic restaurants and bars in Winklematten, although you can venture into the centre of Zermatt and explore a larger range of eateries.

With two living areas at Tuftra Penthouse, kids can make one their own space to chill out while the adults catch up on the day’s events in the other, in close proximity. The living rooms each have a large flat screen smart TV with Chromecast as well as Apple TV to keep children of all ages amused in the evenings.
When not skiing and if you want them kept busy and out of trouble outdoors, there is a children’s play area just a 5minute walk from the property.

Low and high seasons vary by location and by property, but the general pattern is as follows:
Chalets
Low season is usually early/mid-December, mid-January, plus the summer months.
Mid season is usually early February, March and April.
High season is usually Xmas, New Year and mid/end February.
European Villas
Low season is usually April, May and October.
Mid season is usually June and September.
High season is usually July and August.
Caribbean Villas
Low season is usually June to November.
Mid season is usually November to mid-December and mid-April to June.
