Luxury 5* hotel
A fabulous location, world-class skiing and a stunning ski hotel feels like the perfect combination, but the best luxury ski holidays come with a little sprinkling of magic, too, and that’s exactly what sets Ultima Gstaad above the rest of the pack.
Located on the first floor, this 250m2 four-bedroom apartment is just one of the residences that form part of the Ultima hotel and spa, and give you all the privacy of your own luxury ski chalet, along with the benefits of a stay in a five-star hotel.
Ultima is home to the wonderful Swiss Perfection spa and clinic, offering not only a relaxing swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzis and more but also expert staff to provide detox and aesthetic treatments with a high level of medical expertise as well as years of experience of providing holistic wellbeing. So when you’re not out on the slopes (which are only steps from the front door, by the way) you can easily spend an afternoon or a whole day making the most of the spa facilities.
In the evenings, head to the bar or terrace for a drink, enjoy a gourmet meal at Restaurant Ultima, and make use of the Shisha bar and cinema, too. All on site and exclusively available to Ultima Gstaad’s guests.
Up in your own private apartment, every detail has been taken care of to ensure your total relaxation. Each of the four double bedrooms has a spa-style ensuite and walk-in wardrobe to provide everyone with a cosy bolthole when they want a little time alone. In the communal areas, a modern rustic style, combined with an air of gentleman’s club, creates a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. Gather in capacious armchairs around the fire in the evenings, sit around the dining table over a few glasses of wine from Gstaad’s own cellar, or take your nightcaps out onto the terraces to enjoy the night air and the view.
Ultima Gstaad is set between quiet meadows and the road that runs to Glacier 3000, so it’s both peaceful but also close to everything you need.
The Wispile ski lift is just 50 metres from the front door and Rutti-Bodmen and Eggli lifts are both very close by. The promenade is just a 10m walk away.
The nearest airport is Bern, approximately 1hr 30mins away. Alternatively, Geneva is 2hrs and Zurich is 2hrs 30mins drive.

As guests of Ultima Gstaad, you always have an invitation to dine at the hotel’s exclusive restaurant. The wine cellar is well stocked with bottles from around the globe, and experts are on hand to advise on food and wine pairings. Ultima offers real ‘event’ eating and we think you’ll enjoy spending a few hours each evening in its convivial atmosphere, with fires roaring and candles flickering.
There are lots more eateries to try in Gstaad itself though, and your concierge will be able to book the best tables at the best restaurants for you. We’re big fans of La Bagatelle, which is known for its traditional French cuisine, award-winning wine cellar and fabulous views from its extensive terrace.
If you prefer to dine in the privacy of your apartment, however, service of a private chef can be arranged to cater for you all, either for a special occasion meal or for the entirety of your stay. And, of course, the apartment is beautifully appointed with everything you could need in the fully equipped kitchen. Every detail is thought of, right down to the Nespresso machine.
