Description

Perched on a beautiful stretch of coastline, and decked out with every mod-con, Villa Amala is a breathtaking bolthole by the sea. This luxury villa in Corfu with infinity pool and tennis court is one of just two villas that together make up the Periousia Amala estate.

Indoors and out merge beautifully here. Extensive terraces include several seating areas as well as a full outdoor lounge and dining areas. Around the landscaped grounds there are a plethora of secluded little nooks with views out to sea, just calling out for someone with a book and a glass of wine to find them. The icing on this villa’s cake, however, must be the 40m infinity pool that stretches along the front of the villa, giving everyone plenty of room to splash, play, float and relax. Sun loungers lay invitingly to one side and at one end is a shaded shelter with comfy sofas where you can relax, dry off and maybe enjoy a cooling drink or cocktail from the bar.

Inside Villa Amala, all is equally relaxing. The property has a contemporary coastal style with exposed rafters bringing a driftwood feel to the palette of neutrals and blues. At night time, a huge stone fireplace in the living room makes the room feel indulgent and cosy, yet by day, the sea views from every window and cool breeze blowing in are pure summer. A chic and cosy dining area as well as a breakfast area in the main living space give you lots of options for eating indoors if the weather should happen to prevent al fresco meals.

Cool, minimalist bedrooms in warm whites and with natural materials make for very easy sleep. Drift off to the sound of the sea. And in the morning, spa style bathrooms, terrace views out to sea and the aroma of breakfast being prepared are more than enough to tempt you from your cosy bed.

Location

Villa Amala is one of just two villas on the exclusive Periousia Amala estate in Kassiopi on the north east coast of Corfu. It has direct access to Avlaki Beach and is walking distance from two beachside tavernas. Corfu town is 55 minutes away by car.

The property is approximately 1 hour from Corfu Airport.

Please note the villa can be taken along with Villa Periousia next door to create an estate that sleeps up to 16 people.

Eating

The villa is sold on a self-catered basis although a private chef can be hired for as many or as few meals as you require. A breakfast service is offered 6 mornings per week and food and drinks are charged separately.

There is also the option of cooking for yourself al fresco, as the villa has fabulous outdoor eating areas and a BBQ where you can enjoy long, leisurely meals with sea views.

Alternatively you may like to take the opportunity to try out either or both of the two lovely tavernas just a short stroll away on Avlaki beach.

Kids

Lots of outdoor room is the big draw here for children and their parents. Villa Amala has access to a secluded beach area as well as a jetty shared with the next-door villa. In front of the villa’s extensive terraces is a 40m infinity pool, which little ones will love splashing in, with shaded seating area for drying off afterwards. Slightly older children will enjoy the boules court and there’s also a tennis court shared with the other villa, with rackets and balls provided.

On a less-than-clement day, the TV snug will keep kids entertained. The villa has a TV and blu-ray player, too, as well as stacks of books, games and toys to amuse children of all ages.

Should you wish, you can book a range of workshops and activities for the children from arts and crafts to cookery lessons to walks on the beach and trips out to the riding centre for horse and pony rides.

If the adults would like an evening out, nannies and babysitters can be booked through the villa’s concierge service.
