With its pretty blue shutters and grand stone exterior, La Residenza captures your attention as soon as you set eyes on it. The picturesque luxury villa is surrounded by flat, unspoilt countryside which is scattered with olive groves and you can enjoy views out towards the Adriatic Sea which is just a short walk away.
Inside, the historic building has been restored and modernised, retaining many of the original features while enhancing the spaces with elegant décor and all the mod-cons. The five suites are all bright with whitewashed walls, stone floors and some with traditional arched stone ceilings, complimented by plush ornate soft furnishings that nod to Italy’s stylish design reputation. Similarly, in the main living spaces you’ll find rustic stairwells, and perfectly preserved traditional Apulian botte ceilings alongside bright Art Deco furniture and an impressive collection of artworks.
For those travelling in the summer months, the villa’s real selling point is its striking outside space. Here you’ll find sweeping lawns, colourful flowers and a huge, heated swimming pool surrounded by plush sun loungers and your very own poolside bar. The views of the endless olive trees can be admired from the villa’s vast roof terrace.
There is also a shaded pergola with outdoor living and dining furniture for al fresco meals at any time of day. And for those who want to stay fit on holiday, there is even an outdoor gym space, with Technogym equipment and yoga mats. You can stay active whilst exploring the picturesque landscapes on the complimentary bikes – the perfect way to explore the Puglian landscapes.
La Residenza is perfectly located for those looking to explore all that the Puglia region has to offer. The coastal resort of Savelletri is just a five-minute drive away, while scenic towns of Monopoli and Ostuni are both less than half an hour’s drive. The must-see Puglian destination of Alberobello is also around a half an hour drive.
For some beach time, the villa is just a short walk from the Pettolecchia Il Lido beach club, where you’ll have access to a private area.
The nearest airport, in Brindisi, is a 35 minute drive, while Bari airport is just under an hour away.

With a spacious and fully equipped kitchen, foodies will want to get stuck into some serious cooking at La Residenza. Puglia is known as the fruit bowl of Italy because of the huge variety of produce that is grown here, so you certainly won’t be short of local ingredient to use – from olives to cheeses, and fresh fruit and veg to punchy primitivo wine.
If you’re not a fan of having to organise food shopping on holiday, don’t worry, you’ll have a butler on hand to buy all the groceries for you, so you just have to settle up the bill with them after. For a special occasion or just to mix things up, your butler can also arrange for a local chef to come in and cook for you or teach you a new dish with a cooking class.
When it comes to drinking and dining locations, you’re spoilt for choice with the indoor dining room, shaded garden pergola and several further al fresco living spots, including the poolside bar.
