This luxury villa is where 12th-century rustic style meets 21st-century comforts. The beautiful Tuscan stone building, set in the residential village of Castiglioncello del Trinoro which also houses a boutique hotel, has been painstakingly restored using local wood and stone, for a truly authentic experience, but with all the comforts of a luxury home.
Inside the traditional exterior, your eyes will be immediately drawn to the green living area, where books adorn the walls ready for your choosing. For crisp autumn nights, you will find the hearth room inviting you to light the wood burning fire for a cosy evening after a day spent in the countryside. Stepping outside, you will discover a private terrace with pergola, perfect for al fresco dining in the warmer months. Wine aficionado’s will be pleased to see the villa pays homage to its location in the Tuscan countryside, with a private wine cellar in which a tasting can be arranged or a bottle of wine chosen to accompany dinner, (at an extra charge).
The light and spacious kitchen means cooking is a pleasure – we’re pretty sure you’ll be arguing over who’s on oven duty each night! And serious foodies will be in seventh heaven here, with fabulous local delicacies to try in the two restaurants nearby and a choice of cookery lessons available in your villa so you can learn to create meals like a true Tuscan.
But it’s the little things that make this villa so special. Attention has been paid to all the details – luxurious cotton bedlinens, natural and neutral soft furnishings, marble bath tubs that make for the most relaxing soak you’ll ever enjoy… Villa Muri Antichi is ‘simple’, done perfectly.
Don’t forget to try out the extensive facilities of the hotel on the estate too, from the indoor and outdoor infinity pool, spa, two fantastic restaurants and a cocktail lounge with stunning views over the valley. With a location in a traditional village, the hotel has a hamlet feel and you can sit in the small church square, breathe in the fresh Tuscan air and watch the day go by.
