Picture waking up to sit on your private roof terrace with a steaming coffee, watching as the sun rises and the morning mist settles in the forested valley below. Welcome to Villa Torre.
As part of a picturesque estate in the heart of the Umbrian countryside, this luxury villa enjoys panoramic views and a tranquil location that is perfect for those looking to escape for some Italian R&R.
The stone villa is a restored medieval defence tower, hence the panoramic views, and comes with bags of character. A ground-floor extension means there is ample space for a roomy lounge, small kitchen, and family dining room – which all feature exposed beams, tiled floors, and classic Italian hardwood furniture that creates a cosy farmhouse feel. There is a large ground floor bedroom with access to the garden, and then two further bedrooms are housed upstairs in the ancient tower.
Aside from the unique history and quirky architecture, the villa’s real selling point is its outside space. To one side of the tower the garden slopes up to give way to a large infinity pool, a dining terrace with a barbecue, and sun loungers shaded by a leafy pergola. Meanwhile, a large veranda with a covered dining table and outdoor sofas stretches along the backside of the villa, with direct access to the lounge and stunning views over the valley.
Despite its unspoilt views and seemingly remote location, Villa Torre is actually part of a vast estate, which benefits from its own restaurant and bar and offers plenty of activities.
There is also a small grocery store and golf course just outside of the estate, and the small village of Pierantonio can be reached within a 10 minute drive.
For those wanting to combine their country escape with a city break, Florence is just under a 2 hour drive away, and Rome and Pisa airports are around a 2 hour 30 minute drive.

Alternatively, you could take the estate’s complimentary shuttle service to the Il Caldaro restaurant for some authentic Umbrian delicacies or spend a lazy afternoon with lunch and a glass of wine at the Orangerie Bar.
